The short version
- During the 14-day free trial, nothing is charged. Starting the trial on the web needs a payment card. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing at all.
- Your first payment on the web or in Google Play has a 30-day money-back guarantee, on the monthly and the yearly plan. Email us within 30 days of your first charge and we refund it in full, no questions asked.
- You can cancel any time on theCancel contracts here page, without signing in, or in Settings → Billing. Monthly plans, and yearly plans in their first year, end at the end of the period you paid for. After its first year, a yearly plan ends one month after you cancel, and we refund the unused part of the year.
- Subscriptions bought in the iPhone or iPad app are sold and refunded by Apple, and our guarantee does not apply to them. Request a refund atreportaproblem.apple.com; Apple decides on the request.
30-day money-back guarantee
If Clef isn't for you, email hello@playclef.com within 30 days of your first paid charge and we'll refund that first payment in full, whether it paid for a month or a year. No questions, no forms.
The guarantee covers subscriptions bought on the web and in Google Play. For a web subscription, the refund goes back to your original payment method through Link, typically within 5–10 business days. For a Google Play subscription, include your Google Play order number (it starts with GPA.), and we refund the order through Google Play. App Store purchases are refunded only by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Permanently deleting your Clef account does not waive this guarantee or any statutory refund right. If the account has already been deleted, email us from the former account address and include the date of the charge so we can match the separately retained billing record without restoring the account.
This guarantee is a voluntary contractual promise. It applies in addition to your statutory rights and never limits them.
EU/EEA statutory right of withdrawal (Widerrufsrecht)
The quickest way to withdraw is the Withdraw from contract herepage. It works without signing in, and it is linked at the foot of every page of this site. The instruction below covers subscriptions bought on the web. In the EU, a subscription bought in the App Store or Google Play is sold by Apple or Google, so you withdraw from it with the store.
Withdrawal instruction
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the European Economic Area, you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Daniel Dratschuk, Schölerpad 235, 45355 Essen, Germany, +49 1567 9798338,hello@playclef.com) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unambiguous declaration (for example, a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory. You can also exercise your right of withdrawal online athttps://app.playclef.com/withdraw. If you use this online function, we will send you, without delay and on a durable medium (for example, by email), an acknowledgement of receipt with the content of your withdrawal and the date and time it was received. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Consequences of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
If you requested to begin the performance of services during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us an amount which is in proportion to what has been provided until you have communicated to us your withdrawal from this contract, in comparison with the full coverage of the contract.
What this means for a Clef subscription
On the web, the contract is concluded when you start the free trial, so the withdrawal period starts with the trial. During the trial nothing has been paid, and a withdrawal costs nothing. The trial ends 14 days after you start it, at the same time of day. The withdrawal period ends at the end of the 14th day after the day you started the trial. So the first charge can fall inside the withdrawal period. If you withdraw within the withdrawal period after a charge, we refund that payment in full and do not ask for the proportionate amount described above.

After the first payment
Apart from the cases on this page, payments are not refunded. Cancellation stops all future charges instead, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
After its first year, a yearly plan can be cancelled at any time with one month's notice. It then ends one month after we receive your cancellation, or at the end of the paid year if that comes first, and we refund the unused part of that year pro rata, to the payment method you used.
If something has gone genuinely wrong, write to us anyway; we would rather sort it out than hold you to a technicality.
